Our guides at Desert Rat Tours are avid cyclists, David and Sarah. They work together to bring you the best in what the great Grand Valley has to offer.
David Withers has been living in the Grand Valley for close to thirty years. He grew up on the trails here and was a member of the Grand Junction Cycling Team in the mid-80’s. After a hiatus from cycling, he has re-acquainted himself with the sport and has an appetite for all things “bike.” An avid volunteer for COPMOBA, he frequently volunteers his time and muscle for trail building.
Sarah Mah Rarick has been cycling in the Grand Valley since 1995 and has had a hand in building many of the area trails. Currently, she serves on the COPMOBA Colorado Canyons Chapter, the regional voice for the Grand Valley’s cyclists.
Together, David and Sarah make up Desert Rat Tours, a company that strives to support the community and sport of cycling. They accomplish this through participating in trailwork days, youth cycling programs, and other worthwhile causes. Desert Rat Tours uses leave no trace and sustainable practices to protect the quality and integrity of the trails.
